'Topping-Off' Ceremony for Mullica Hill Surgical Center Construction
Vineland, NJ, plastic surgeon, Dr. Sean Bidic, plans to open a new office and ambulatory surgery center this summer thirty minutes from Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware, and 1.5 hours from Manhattan.
Vineland, New Jersey (March 2018) — American Surgical Arts (americansurgicalarts.com) in Vineland, NJ, and its founder, plastic surgeon Dr. Sean Bidic, recently celebrated a milestone in the construction of its new surgical center with a traditional "topping off" ceremony — marking the symbolic completion of the building's structural phase. Workers hoisted the final steel beam into place, topping the future home of Dr. Bidic's plastic surgery practice and state-of-the-art surgical center.
"This new surgical center will be fully equipped so that we can perform all of our outpatient reconstructive and cosmetic surgery procedures here," Dr. Bidic says. "We've been planning this move for some time, and it's exciting to see the continued progress being made."
Dr. Bidic, who is a double board-certified plastic surgeon, says he expects to begin seeing patients at the new site—located at 199 Mullica Hill Rd.—later this summer. Dr. Bidic specializes in body contouring, reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery, and hand surgery at his practice.
Family and friends at the topping off ceremony were invited to sign their names to the steel beam, which was painted white, before the workers lifted it onto the building. The tradition also includes placing a tree atop the beam.
American Surgical Arts is adding the Mullica Hill location and continuing at his original location in Vineland, New Jersey, where Dr. Bidic established his practice after nearly 25 years of medical, surgical, and artistic training in cities spanning from New York City and Philadelphia to Los Angeles and Dallas. He returned to the Delaware Valley, where he grew up, and has seen his practice thrive.
The move will help him accommodate that growth, which included Dr. Bidic recently bringing on a second plastic surgeon. Dr. Vinay S. Gundlapalli joined American Surgical Arts in 2017 and specializes in microsurgery and breast reconstruction for women undergoing a mastectomy.
Dr. Bidic is especially excited about the fully accredited, 7,800-square-foot ambulatory surgery center that's the centerpiece of the new facility, which is being built on nearly 3.5 acres in Mullica Hill. It's about 25 minutes from Philadelphia, 30 minutes from Wilmington, Delaware, and about 1.5 hours from New York City.
"We're looking forward to serving patients from Delaware and Philadelphia in addition to women and men from throughout South Jersey," says Dr. Bidic.
